@Chris - re: a contact form, I have mixed feelings about them. On some of my blogs I have one and others I don't. For example, I don't have a contact form here because you can send me a message through the forums. Maybe I should think about adding one!

@Linda - anytime my friend!

@Jarkko and Naomi - Maybe I can get him to come on my <a href="http://www.search-this.com" rel="nofollow">Random Bits</a> podcast. I've been a fan of his ideas as well. Thanks for the idea!!

@Naomi: Hehe, let's keep up the conversation here, shall we :) Sara, I hope you don't mind...

I have always received a comment back from Scott when I have mentioned him on my blog. But I haven't tried to get more in touch with him so I don't have any first hand experience on that. Funny that he failed to get back to you because based on his own advice I would assume he would do it no matter what:

1) He says that he always calls back within the same day (if I remember correctly)

2) He tells people to do what they preach...

Hmm... I still want to believe that it was a human mistake - maybe he didn't notice that you had called or e-mailed? Scott, would you mind speaking for yourself? ;)

@Linda: Thanks for the kind words!

Hi Sara,

Great work. Its really great to see bloggers promoting other bloggers, putting blogging further on the cyberspace map!

Anyhow, you mentioned what makes a good blog and i thought id just get off the topic a little. Would you recommend to allow people to contact you via a webform(ie privately) or would you leave this option off to encourage comment posting?

regards,

Chris Carlaw

While I know this is probably not the right forum for my comment, I thought y'all would appreciate the irony. I also read Scott's blog - I think it's fantastic. For those of you reading who haven't heard of him, Scott Ginsberg is The Name Tag Guy. His mission in life is to make the world a more approachable place. Dude has a freaking name tag TATTOOED ON HIS CHEST.

Anyway, I did a case study of him on my blog when I was first starting out. I figured I'd give him a call/e-mail to let him know it was up, especially since he was so into approachability.

Never heard from him. And for some reason, I found it so funny that I forgot to be offended.

Hey Shane! You have a great taste in blogs ;)

Scott has for a long time been one of my favorites, and the two others you mention I just found through your blog some time ago.

It's a great world waiting to be explored.
