Hi,
Its a informative post sara! Great explanations! Especially the first para "Make your feed prominent " is really good.I agree that “it is easier to get a repeat customer than a new customer” .Thanks for the great tips.

Good points Sara. Content Relish sounds like a cool little plugin, I'll have to check that out. I'd noticed the RSS subscription notice one before too, very cool.

Excellent post Sara. I couldn't agree more and need to look into comment relish. I've seen it used on other blogs but wasn't sure which plugin it was. Thanks for the tip!

@Eric - yeah i think RSS feeds are more of an after thought for the most part unless you are a serious blogger!

@Linda - yes, getting them to comment is an entirely different problem!

@Ben - No problem Ben! And don't worry, it will go away after you've been here 3 times. It uses cookies so if anyone has cookies disabled they will see it every time though.

@mark - yes... you reallly do :)

I saw the Seth Godin plug in at your site and thought it was cool, wondered how you had done it. Thanks for the link, I will check it out :)

Good post!

The top and bottom thing isn't for me. I think it's a tad too 'hard sell'. The same with the Seth Godin plugin. However, I was really impressed by your Comment Relish plug in. The email was unexpected and a present surprise.

I use MyBlogLog and thank the visitors for visiting that way, but it would be extra nice to send them an email. Now if I could just figure out a way to get them to "join the conversation"???

Great post!

I agree, it's amazing how many bloggers out there don't have RSS feed links right up top. Fortunately for me, I use Firefox and the sage extension. FF usually finds the feeds right away, but without it I wouldn't be able to find a good chunk of the feeds I subscribe to.
