First off I would like to say that I am very happy to have found this site..it is a great place to check out other people's blog and promote your own blog. But my question is..could anyone suggest to me ways to gain more readers both on and off MySpace?..and is there any other good blogging sites out there?..I know this is going to sound silly but one day I hope to be huge blogger..I wanna be a cop in the future and I wanna be a cop and like a blogger with everything written from my daily life to my adventures on the force

I don't really use myspace, so I wouldn't know how to do it for there. Plus I'd think that getting readership on myspace would require some kind of login?

I think getting involved in communities like this is a great start. For example, I just clicked on your link to read your blog. I do that to most people's blogs here and I think others do as well.
I do think because you are blogging on Myspace though, that makes it harder to attract readers from the non-MySpacers. Recent Blog: Grow Potatoes in Your Backyard

I agree with Sara.
Is there a special reason you chose myspace for hosting your blog?

Agreed I'd get your blog on its own domain and advertise the blog through your account so you still get myspacers.

Thank you all for the feedback..I must say this is the most mature site I have been on.I really hope to learn a lot on here about blogging and to answer the question about why I have a Myspace Blog..it just sort of happened I suppose..I wrote one blog entry and it just lead to tons more and I love it and how would I go about getting my own blog domain?..I guess when I started the Myspace Blog I never knew of a site where all could view and comment..I'm still learning pletny and I'm so glad to have found this website.
Again thank you all for responding and I look forward to hearing your new responses ![]() ![]() Recent Blog: The item has been deleted

![]() If you like MySpace, there is no harm in using it and its definitely an audience to cater to, but if you want a more varied audience, a stand alone blog is the way to go. The easiest way is to sign up at WordPress.com Get a Free Blog Here or Blogger: Create your Blog Now -- FREE. I personally prefer WordPress but a lot of people really like Blogger so I think it is a matter of preference. If you ever want to put ads on your blog though, you can't do that at wordpress.com. May I suggest Pownce(Pownce - PM/add me on MSN to get an invite) as a great way to get involved within a community and spread your blog around?

I am currently spreading the word with my signature line leaving comments on Art sites that I visit , I am on Facebook, MySpace, StumbleUpon and I have exchanged links with other artists. What else should I be doing to find art buyers?

I think doing what your doing sounds about right Sue. Without directly advertising, you are doing what you can to get your artwork shown!

I've found the only thing that gets you consistent traffic is time. You can get spikes in traffic using different gimmics but really it is only time that will get you traffic that sticks around. At least that is my experience.
It goes without saying that good articles, honesty, etc, etc, etc, etc are required as well as time. I hope... |
