As it seems that a lot of you get traffic from StumbledUpon, I wondered if you would share some tips on the best ways to get Stumbled.
I currently get around 0 Stumbles for my blog so I must be doing something wrong! Cheers, |

Add a link to StumbleUpon and perhaps Delicious below each post either on the single post page or also on the index page. I wouldn't go overboard on all the social media icons, but having a couple of links can look reasonable and just reminds people that perhaps they could submit it to SU.
Also be active on SU yourself. Join some groups that are along similar lines to your site or interests, stumble other sites, add friends to your profile etc. And there's nothing stopping you from stumbling your own pages, but it may be better received if you can find another stumbler to perhaps do you a favour, maybe you can exchange stumbles? Thanks for that Sarah.
I had a few 'chicklets' when I started out but I just hate they way they look. I'll see if there's a way I can add them without them ruining my design. I have a lot of scope to be a more active Stumbler as currently I do just about zip. I'd better get Stumblin'! |

I stumble my own content if i think it's good enough and "easily digestible" for the stumbling audience.
At the end of the day, it will either catch on or it won't. No matter what happens you will still have to keep creating great posts and building up your site so it's no big deal.

I edited my plugin that shows the chiclets to only show the ones I felt were most relevant.

Hey Sara, thanks for that.
Possibly me being stupid but when you say "edited my plugin" do you mean you've created a chicklet plugin (that I could download ;0) ) or did you modify one that someone else create? |

As far as I know, Digg & del.icio.us works well than StumbledUpon.
I am getting more traffic from both sites, but not via StumbledUpon, but I heard StumbledUpon works fine, Not sure on why it is not working in my case ![]() Cheers, |

I've been using the addthis plugin. It has the major social bookmarking services on it and is a very nice, compact addition to the bottom of each post. You can see it if you follow my sig.

I never encountered Stumbleupon yet. I guess of of site who gathered more traffic or visitor it is not because of Stumbleupon alone, but also blogging and forums posting. Not only that they might be doing other strategy to make their site know to web surfer.

Yes, Stumble is a DOFOLLOW bookmark site. However, delicious & digg can give more traffic than stumble. Why don't you try with DOFOLLOW blog commenting, article submitting as well as inner page link building on high PR domains. As far as I know, once you get some good places in search engines for a particular keyword, then you can do inner page link building on high PR domains, that will help you to increase your status on search engines. I am sure about it.

As I was reading this thread, I got Stumbled. Rather, I think I Stumbled myself and then a couple dozen people followed the link which is new for me. I often Stumble myself and then maybe get 2 clicks through to my site. For a new (2 weeks old) site, this is a big deal. I'm sure for some experienced bloggers, that would be nothing.
![]() My intro/review text on this one was more brief and enticing so I'm going to assume that's why the increase in Stumble traffic. As for getting other people to Stumble you, that's still a mystery to me. I'm building up more traffic everyday but the interaction still isn't as high as I'd like it to be. Copyblogger.com wrote an article about this today which has me a bit concerned. I have a feeling people who get Stumbled a lot also get a lot of comments and emails because the readers feel engaged. That's what I hope to increase on my blog, right along with the traffic. Recent Blog: Mega post: How I plan trips with kids

I've managed to do pretty well with Digg, but I've had no luck with Stumble. It seems to be very hit or miss.

Ya, I heard that there are more traffic can be driven from stumble, but I did not get more from there. May be I am not good at stumble. However, as some other guys said here, Delicious.com is driving me good traffic.
