Well someone had mentioned that it was 'possible' they'd updated, but we hadn't heard final word yet or gotten any verification that they had....

Probably a stupid question...but where can I check what my page rank is (if I have one)?
I tried the likes of prchecker.net and a few others and was given a PR of 2. The reason I'm wondering is, I wouldn't have thought these were accurate - I wasn't expecting anything above 0 yet.
Not that it bothers me entirely, I was just interested :)

I'm waiting for mine to drop, it has to be only a matter of time now...
EDIT: Nevermind, I noticed I have dropped from 5 to 4. Oh well, such is life.

Holy expletive deleted! My TypePad URL turns out a 3! I'm still stuck looking at a zero, though, on the new domain...

It certainly has. The forum here at TBE still doesn't have any PR but the blog now has a PR of 4 and the home page has a PR of 3 (which surprises me b/c the home page is simply a gateway to the other sections of the site).
@vertexity - you're definitely showing up as a 2 for me which isn't bad at all considering your just launched it recently.
Somehow ilovecode.com (still a 6) didn't drop and I'm not sure how as really, it's a wasteland for my thoughts.

How many people link to the forum though? I know I'm linking to the home page and most others probably do as well so that'll be why it has a PR and the forum doesn't. You use the link to the blog when you add comments so that's why it has a PR. But you'll need to get some links straight to the forum if you want that to have PR too :)
ps, Mine hasn't changed I'm still on a 4.

FInally got some PR back on my new domains but down to a 3, however most sites that link to me have also had a drop. One template sales site has stayed at PR 4 which is good and my business site has gone back up to PR 5.

Ooooh my beloved GoodBoyGoneBad.com rises from PR0 to PR3, yey!!! It's so great! Something to be celebrated about. :P

@Bob - 95% of the time I link to the forum rather than the blog as it's the community I want to promote. I actually have a lot of links pointing to the blog to include several incoming from pr6 sites. Either way, I'm pleased.
I've linked to the forum too. Guess what? I woke up this morning with a shiny new theme I just installed and a PR 4. I thought the update was over and I had gotten a PR 0, so this was a very nice surprise. :) I feel like a real blogger now!

Yeah! I felt the same way too! I was down with fever and flu so I asked for an earlier dismiss from my lecturer, intended to go home and rest. But as usual, I would check if there's any new comments in my blog and I noticed that the PR toolbar stated PR3/10. I was jumping for joy ... but I'm still sick anyway. LOL

my dvd blog has a PR3/10 and my celebrity has PR4/10..
I also thought that there's no PR update and hollah!.. I've got those PR on both of my sites... :)

Hey Cedric, I'm sorry you're sick. Congrats on the Page Rank though. :)

Exactly the same for me too.

Maybe because you have a really nice blog and people like to link to it :)

I got a nice email from a reader today letting me know I'd gone from 0 to 4. Quite happy with that. :)
My underconstruction,1 page,3-month-old site got PR3 ?!?

0 to 4 in 14 posts. I can live with that :)
Remind me again; outside of trying to sell advertising is there really any benefit of a high page rank (other than the obvious bragging rights ;))?

google describes PageRank as:
PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important"
so the higher your PR, the more sites that "vote" for you essentially.

Not really. It's just a quick indicator of how big your site is. Consider it an SEO's Alexa, but less frequently updated. ;)

My blog jumped from a PR0 to PR4. I'm pretty happy with that (for what PR is actually worth) since I haven't really been doing much with it lately.

Since you seem to have just about everything (save for things like quoting posts for example) have you thought about redirecting /blog-forums/ to /blog-forums/index.php by any chance?
ses5909

Yeah I might redirect it the other way, never really thought about it until now!
