I visited a blog today and their post said that they added an rss feed and to scroll all the way to the bottom to subscribe. I replied they should make it more prominent so it's easier for people to subscribe.

I should take my own advice!

Is your rss feed prominently placed?

My blog is still really new, but I learned that right away. The feedburner icon used to be all the way at the bottom of the blog and I couldn't pick up more than one or two new subscribers in any given day. Now that it's up above the fold, some days I'm getting 10+.

you bet! Right at the top. I also recently installed a plugin that shows a brief welcome/subscribe message to new visitors just above the post content.

It is slick, although it hasn't been running long enough to see what kind of impact it has on new subscriptions.

Well, mine is not on the top of the page, but still you don't have to scroll to get one. Maybe I should move it right to the top.

Well mine is in fact at the bottom currently, but it is easy to see and you do not have to scroll too far. Though my new design moves it closer to the top.

<rant>
I hate it when I find a new site that has serveral articles that are of interest, so I decide to subscribe. Only to discover that I cannot find the feed address anywhere.

Then another thing I hate is a site that has a link that says RSS Feeds so you click it only to be taken to a page telling you what RSS is and that they hope to offer some feeds in the future. :)

Thanks, I just added that last night. I saw a similar site doing it and did a quick search and sure enough, there is a randomizer plugin for wordpress :)
