View Full Version : An update on the featured site

If you didn't know, every week (usually on Sunday), I will be changing the featured member that used to show on the home page. I say used to because I changed the location, and I think this is better for you.

The featured member section basically allowed me to tell a little bit about the member and link to their blog (read extra visibility for you), but it was only on the home page. Now I put it in the sidebar so it currently displays on all of the pages EXCEPT the Forums and the Blog. Currently that is around 8 pages but that number will continue to grow.

So, how do YOU get your blog listed there? Just be an active and contributing member of the community. There are still several awesome candidates, but I would like to give everyone their week in the sun. Your time will come!

I noticed the change yesterday upon looking at the theme section.

I think it looks a lot better now, looks more like a feature or part of the site rather than a post or a blog entry :)

Thanks Dave, I think it looks better too. I still need to figure out what to do with the left sidebar (under the login or welcome message). I have ideas based on future plans but I don't want to put something there, just for the sake of it.

You know..i just realized that i've never visited the homepage in ages, it's always straight to the forums.

Same with me. The home page is really just a gateway to the other sections of the site: the forums, blog, and now resources. I'm not sure what else to put there :D

Woohoo Michael!

And I like the idea of it showing on multiple pages. I'm more likely to notice it that way, so I'm sure others will be, too.

Nice catch Ben! It was actually on several of the pages as the majority of them (outside of the forum) share the same header!
