Do you align your images to the left or right?

Michael asked an interesting question (and received some interesting responses as well if you read the comments) about posting your images on the left (http://www.problogdesign.com/blog-usability/why-post-images-should-be-on-the-left/).

Where I place my images depends on my objective. If I want to draw attention to the image, I place it on the left, if I want it to be a simple accent, it goes on the right. How about you?

For me it depends on the page content and how the image is focused. For instance, if it's a cat looking to the right, the image goes on the left. If he's looking to the left it goes to the right.

I try to make my images always focus back to the content.

I start with the left, if there are more than 1 image going in a post than I will alternate left, right, left...

My blog images are all 400px and centered and are usually the point of focus for the post they are in (skin doesn't allow for bigger images in posts without disrupting the layout). I use the same skin with a few edits (no sidebars) for my photoblog that allows me to post images 900px width, again centered.

I usually keep them on the left as they look neater to me that way.

I'm kinda in sync with you Sara, but I have noticed that I tend to gravitate towards right-justifying my blog post images. Somehow it just visually feels, um... right.

But Michael's post certainly is food for thought...

I post smaller images on the left when there is enough content to wrap around them on the right. If I have a larger image, I just make it the same width as my content area and center it a the top of the article.

I'm with, Bob!. I almost always center images. I've tried doing the alternating-sides thing on multi-image posts, but never could get the text-wrapping and spacing to come out the way I wanted it. Now, I just type the center tags and don't worry about it.

I always post them at the left, I find it's easier to read that way... people are accustomed to it.

My blog is all centered, so my pictures are centered, too.

It depends on the side of the image and what I want to accomplish. My header image always get centered, after that it's fair game depending on what I want to do. A lot of the time I find myself staggering them.

i post my dvd blog's images alternately.. while my celebrity images us at the center..

I also usually just center images, however, for smaller images, for some reason I placed them on the right. I guess I didn't think about it very much.
