I usually try to post a decent length on the blog here at TBE and at Search-This but on my personal blogs I really don't care; I don't mind writing two sentences if that's all I have to say.
What do you do to beef up short posts? I have added images to mine.

Images work for me!:)

I try to come up with other sections/topics that I could add to the post. If there aren't any, then I'll just publish the post as it is.
I've had a few posts where I've said all that I need to say in just 300 words or so, usually because an image is doing a lot of the talking. There's no need to pad things out for the sake of word count. :)
Something I've never really thought about. If I only have 5 words to say I'll say them.

I've found in the past that if I write what I think then that's the best it can be. Padding something out or cutting it down just loses the natural flow.
If it's only a couple of lines then at least it shows I'm still around :)

I usually don't try to beef up short posts, unless I have images to go with the post. I much rather prefer to say what I have to say, or else it's not really what I mean.

I usually post photos to beef up my posts. See, I support my husband's band and am usually posting about their concerts, so I usually post a pic of the flier.

I always add images to beef up short posts as well. People seem to respond better to short-mid length posts and photos than they do to long posts.

I haven't written anything less than a paragraph on my blog. But, if I had to I would. Of course, if I couldn't think of anything to say, I might throw in a PLR article.
My problem is not short posts, but long ones. It looks like I am chatty in my writings too :D

It depends on the post. For some posts it is good to add excerpts, with links, to more technical information. With other posts I research other articles that add a dimension that can be developed further.

You know what? According to statistics people would love to read any articles that are direct to the point and has quality content on it. Rather than long and boring contents.

More often than not, I have the opposite problem - I veer to the verbose side of the street so I'm usually working hard to condense down my rambling thoughts into something reasonably concise or at least bring the mess sorta into focus.
Sometimes I do jazz up a short post with a suitable image and other times, I just hang onto the seed idea until it sprouts into a more mature post.
Longer posts don't have to be boring. It depends on the style. I do write long posts sometimes, but I don't think they're that boring. And instead of a 2 lines post I'd rather read something more developed .. I also write more than 2 lines, because I have to say MORE :D

Breaking longer concepts into several, smaller posts works well. The subject matter can be broken into several parts that encourage readers to return.

If it's a short post, then so be it. :) No pictures needed.
I usually add pictures on LONG posts just to make it look more lively.

It all depends on how do I feel... if I have the time, then I can work a bit more on posting... but if n ot, then I just let it be short. No problem with that.

That's pretty much exactly what I was going to say, so no need to re-type. :)

I second the vote for images. Like others mentioned though, if a post is too long i'll break it up.

I generally just publish as is. If the idea for the entry doesn't require much, then I won't worry about filling up more space with it.
The quality is more important than the quantity and I would rather read a short, decent article that gets to the point that a long entry that contains a lot of useless info.

quoted for truth, if you can pack a lot of content into 4 sentences and save me time over a wordy article even better :)

i don't feel like they should be beefed up. if it's all you have to say then it should be all. if you try to force more then it will probably be some bs crap that we can all see right through.

I think short and snappy can be very powerful, you don't need to beef it up. It does depend on the layout you have and how visible the posts are though.
