This cool new thumbnail exchange (http://www.myroomie.net) is exclusively for blogs. It's similar to a banner exchange or a traffic exchange, but instead of displaying banners, you display thumbnails. And the blogs you link to aren't just blogs, they're your roomies! Here is a screenshot of the website:

The thumbnail rotates sequentially to make it fair for everyone. So every time the page is refreshed, you get a new roomie! For now they're sticking to one category for all blogs, but once My Roomie gets more popular, they'll match you with other roomies in the same blog category.

Sign up (http://www.myroomie.net) now if you want to get a roomie of your own!

That sounds interesting and certainly different. I'll look into it. It sounds like just what I've been looking for.

That's actually a neat idea - but I'd prefer not to see the browser window and the XP toolbar in the screenshot.

Very nice idea, but how much control do you get over what sites will appear on your blog?

What a great idea.
I made widgets for Conscious Living (http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/conscious-living) and Beauty Market Buzz (http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/beauty-market-buzz) distributed them so that each blog has a widget for one or two of the others. This doesn't work with
Wordpress blogs that are on the Wordpress host, though, because the widgets are javascript. Are the thumbnail exchanges in javascript as well?

Why not just sign up for John Reese's BlogRush and get it over with? It takes up less room and can generate the same amount of traffic, from what I've heard.

While I like the idea of BlogRush, the numbers don't add up. I've pulled in fewer than 10 hits from BlogRush since it went (beta) live. The widget's RSS randomization is way out of whack - it keeps showing far too many of the same posts over and over.

I'm trying to remain positive about it though and I click thru to others' blog sites very, very often, so I'm doing my part to help it grow and give us B- and C- list bloggers some well-deserved extra attention.

One thing's for certain... BlogRush has prompted me reevaluate and improve my post titles. It makes it very easy to see solid examples of good titles vs. crappy ones. (The crappy ones stick out like a sore thumb!)

Another option would be SmartLink Feed (http://www.adaptiveblue.com/widgets.html). I haven't experimented with it yet, but it looks like it can be customized to suit the blogger's, or website's, needs.

There is a widget for WordPress users, so yes it works on WordPress Blogs.
