First of all, is this illegal? lol.
Second, are you interested? I was blogging a new entry and thought of this idea. haha. See, TBE members are going to help each other by clicking Ads from one and another.
Lastly, comment your thoughts.

I think if someone has their ads clicked to much they can be banned if caught.

Hmm, we are not going to click same ads over and over. One click per blog.

Yeah, if google found out about it (or whatever advertiser you use), your account could be suspended for click fraud. Definitely don't ever ask people to click your ads, as it could come back to bite you!

I definitely wouldn't go clicking any ads just because I was asked to, even if it wasn't a violation of terms.

Asking people to click on your ads is an Adsense violation.

And it funds terrorists, apparently.

Not worth the risk to me - one click isn't going to make or break me and I'd rather stay a publisher for Adsense.

And there's that whole morals thing. Whatever money you would have gained is about half the money that someone else would have lost. xD

You realize that people, some of them members here too, are paying for those clicks, right? That you're taking money out of their wallets for nothing in exchange?
Yeah, don't do that please.

Even if it's not down to you, if you get what you believe are fraudulant clicks, you're meant to report them to Google... Even though I've seen people banned to trying to report fraudulant clicks!

I don't recall ever reading that in the terms of service. Did I miss it?

I don't recall ever reading that in the terms of service. Did I miss it?You arent supposed to get fraudulent clicks though unless you have data supporting that the clicks you are getting are fraudulent ie IP data, reporting is pointless and the google team will reply as such.

I haven't seen anything in the TOS re: reporting fraudulent clicks, but I have contacted google when I suspected something.. one day i was really rolling in the dough and it wasn't because of increased traffic. Given that google is so sensitive I figured it would be better for me to be proactive than wait for google to come yell at me.

From Google:
"If you suspect that invalid clicks may have resulted from a visitor to your site, we suggest that you review your site's logs for any suspicious activity and notify us with your findings . This information can help us in resolving any issues, although as outlined in our Terms and Conditions, Google will use its sole discretion when determining instances of invalid clicks. If you need help monitoring your site traffic, we recommend trying these Google search terms:
Webmaster resources
Website tracking and logging
Site traffic analysis
You may also wish to review our tips and guidelines for keeping your account in good standing.
Lastly, please rest assured that we'll monitor your situation closely, and that your account is being properly credited for all clicks and impressions we consider to be valid. "

You'd think so - but I've seen people banned for exactly that. They reported what they thought was odd rises in clicks to Google, and the reply was Google banned them.
I just let Google make their own mind up now.

It doesn't surprise me ttb. I wish there was a manual for publishers on what to do in various situations. The current one is extremely lacking and these are situations that happen all the time and it appears there isn't a consistent way they deal with things.

My opinion is just to be the "grey guy" and try and stay off the radar. I don't bother adsense team, they don't bother me.

I've reported suspicious goings on before. I had about 6 clicks made and according to my server stats only one person and one bot had been to the site for the day. Google just replied and said thanks for letting them know. Nothing was changed though. Mind you we're not talking $$ here just a few cents ;)

I got a warning from google once (for an old site) for generating suspicious clicks, and they took all the earnings from the period in question off my total for that month. They wouldn't tell me what was suspicious, or when they happened, in fact they wouldn't tell me anything about them at all. Only that if it happened again I'd be kicked off the service.
It was strange, I'd not done anything, my logs looked clean and my earnings hadn't spiked or anything? Never heard from them again, but I've still no idea what the problem was or, more importantly, how to stop it in the future.

Same thing happened to me James. I have a network of sites so I really wanted to know which it was so i could do more research into it but they wouldn't even tell me that. It was frustrating to say the least.

Oooh that sucks. How can Google tell whether they are real clicks or not? This is frustrating.

For a little insight, read this paper, specifically page 21-46:

A little Googling will bring up some more specific examples of ways to detect invalid clicks from both software and humans.

Wow, great find there, Dan. That's some really interesting reading. I've scanned through it, but going to read the whole thing later. Thanks :-?
Well, as an avertiser too, I'd get really mad if I had to PAY for such actions. Don't forget that the money you make or help others make through such fraud are actually PAID by some people who wanted to increase their site traffic and exposure. I don't think it's correct to make such "plans". An interesting ad will get clicked. Don't mess up with people's money ;)
