To quote an old friend of mine: "What eeez it?" Or, more accurately, how did my site get there?

BlogCode (http://www.blogcode.com/index.php)apparently matches blogs by subject matter, style, and input from both bloggers and readers. It's based on something called StoryCode.

I know that no one here can tell me whether I signed up for it in a fit of n00bness, but I was wondering if anyone here had slapped the code on their blog and, if so, what the results were. I don't have the code on my blog, but I got a hit from the site this morning, so I already like it WAY better than BlogRush. ;)

I'm so out of the loop! I hadn't heard of this either :(

It sounds similar to the concept that Pandora uses for music.

I just registered and tried it out. What I like is those cool sliders they use to categorize a blog - you don't have to perfectly fit into a niche.

The search for similar blogs (http://www.blogcode.com/lcompare.php?r=5316) on my site isn't too bad. I had a look at the top 5:

The first one isn't too similar to mine and the second one is dead.

The third might somewhat similar except that it has a focus on church - not a good match for an atheist ;-).

I really liked results 4 and 5 - both are personal blogs with a strong focus on technical stuff. A perfect match IMHO.

But I'm still wondering how this all works. How do they improve the matches? Do they rely on manual categorization only? :-?

The impression that I got was that it relied completely on manual categorization, which, to me, is kind of cool. I think I'm going to give this is a shot; I'm really curious about the 27 questions.
