View Full Version : New "Features" in WP 2.3

I installed the release candidate for WP 2.3 and Ive noticed some kinda big changes.
-They use google blog search instead of technorati for the links
-pending review post status added
-tags(kinda pointless in my book)

Im kinda disappointed that they use google blog search because it doesnt do the same job as technorati did.

I think the big reason they went with google search is they were finding Technorati unreliable... Did anyone else hear anything similar?

Remember all the big deal about Sponsored Themes? well...it was probably because of this partnership with Google.

I hear that the new version will automatically check for plug in updates, no more manually having to check. :) Hoorah!!!!

This is true, when there is a new plugin, a little message will show underneath it in plugin management

I dont like the google blog search being used instead of technorati because now my blog posts show up in the incoming links, I submitted a bug report so hopefully its fixed before the official release.

The plugin check is the one I'm looking forward to. :) (Though if plugin authors don't add their plugin to the plugin db, what happens?)

Other than that, I'm not too bothered about it. It will convince me to finally add tagging to my blog I suppose, but meh. :P

Yeah, it only works if the author submits update on the OFFICIAL WordPress Plugin database site.
