Spotted MBL down a bit today, then when they came up they'd shifted to requiring the Yahoo ID...we all saw this coming.
I'm waiting for the kids from Yahoo Answers to start heading into MBL in droves next. Myself, I knew MBL was in it for stats and why Yahoo wanted the search patterns of us as users...and our visitors...but I see so much slowness with incorporating it into Yahoo ID branding...or is it just meh? :-?

Just another case of something that's supposed to get bigger and better stalling out after the "bigger". :(

At least they made it to "bigger." :) Most don't make it to that point.

Hopefully it straightens up. I have been travelling the past couple of days so haven't been able to get involved as much but I logged in just now and it SEEMS the same. It didn't ask for a yahoo ID.
I was a bit annoyed at having to change to yahoo ID. But oh, well. Seems MBL is at least loading correctly now. Not so slow. Hope with yahoo they really do add some new features, good ones that is, and not mess up what's working.

This must have happened a while ago because my tiny little face used to pop up in blog's recent reader widgets. Then my tiny face disappeared. I didn't log into mybloglog for about 2 weeks and this morning I did and had to go thru the Yahoo id merging process.
The firefox profile I use to browse recently got cleared of all saved passwords and cookies. Must have been by me,but it was a mistake. So maybe this is why I had to reenter all my info?
But now my tiny little face pops up again in teh widgets.

I merged yesterday and I couldn't believe the number of times I had to re-enter my password because Yahoo is "protecting" my password. Apparently they haven't heard of keystroke spyware. If the way they run my blog log compares to the way they run their regular site, it will be no time at all until MBL is a piece of doo doo.
It took me over an hour to merge, change account profiles, and reload my avatar to get rid of that idiotic gray ghost they replaced it with. I complained to MBL support but have yet to get a reply.
At one point I even tried to sign up for a new yahoo account and found out their "click to activate" is broken on both the MBL and the Yahoo sign up page. Overall, this is a very disappointing experience.

I haven't been prompted either. I'm just wondering if something else I've filled out in the past (Flickr etc) has done the job instead.

@shyflower - That is really unfortunate about your experience :(
@SarahG - That could be true. I use yahoo id for a few other websites, although I haven't entered it in months so it would be neat to know if the software is smart enough to look to see if I have a yahoo id activated someone on my computer already (maybe in a cookie).

Oddly enough, one of the things the new long in says is that it will check your login every two weeks. Strange that it hasn't checked yours, Sara.
Sarah G > It could be flckr since that is one of the 'improvements' Yahoo has made. They no longer allow you to download a picture to your Yahoo profile, but instead request that you join flickr
