We talked about proofreading, but do you make sure when you link to someone that the link works and you didn't accidentally make a typo? I've done that before :'"

I usually go to the site I'm linking to, copy the address, then paste it for the link. Sometimes, I test it, anyway, but not all of the time.

I always test everything. I don't care what it is, I test it, then test it again, and then test it a third time.

I'm the same as Sam. I tend to open up the site and copy the link. I have made typos in the past and it wasn't for a while until someone mentioned it that I realised!

I usually just copy the link from my browser, which I thought was fool proof. The problem with fools is, they are ingenious, which I proved by getting a couple of links wrong. The worse thing was the post ended up being reasonably popular and by the time I came back on line I had numerous comments pointing out (albeit politely) that the link was wrong.

Now I test, test, and retest. For awhile something "strange and unusual happened" and my 404's from ShyRhymes were going to the Shyflower Error page. *sighs*. The reason -- you can't use the permalink sitemap for your html sitemap if you have an xml sitemap.
Then I was copying, like Simon, from the browser. Odd though that some urls were category/title and some were just /title. Just "/title" doesn't work all the time.
Live and learn... if I live long enough!

Yup, I copy the link like Sam, but then I also do a test run from within the blog post immediately after publishing.
