Interviews are a great thing to add to your blog if you can get a relevant one. Has anyone ever interviewed someone else on their blog? What result did you see from your interview?

It would be cool to have an interview, but I don't exactly know what I would interview someone about. I should interview you Sara. You look like you would pretty officially amazing to interview ^_^

A reason interviews are cool is because hopefully it will drive increased traffic to your site and ideally the person you interview will mention it on their blog (if they have one).

Yes, i have interviewed many bloggers before, it's a great way to kick-start a blog and bring in some decent traffic and the person being interviewed usually linksback to the interview post on your blog.
I've seen mixed results as some actually take the time to answer the question while with other you get the feeling they were just brushing through it.

A cool way to get interviewed is the Interview Me! (http://www.splitbrain.org/blog/2007-07/25-interview_me) meme. It's fun, viral and gives you a few backlinks. It's also a cool way to get to know your readers.

I like reading interviews when person being interviewed is a professional in their chosen area. I think it must get a lot of traffic to any site that can get an interview with any highly respected individual.
Surely to attract these people though, you need to have a certain amount of interest surrounding yourself in the first place? This being the case, wouldn't you already have a decent amount of traffic?
It must be extremely difficult for someone just starting out to get anyone to agree to an interview.

You never know until you ask. A couple years ago I asked two asp.net rock stars to be interviewed by me and they agreed! Why???? Because I asked.
Then earlier this year I started a brand new podcast (Random Bits Podcast (http://www.search-this.com/random-bits)) yet I asked some pretty big names. All you have to do is ask :D!

I love interviews - even if I don't know the person. I just like to see what someone is all about - what makes them get out of bed in the morning.

I've been interviewed, but I've never interviewed anyone.
I think it might be too close to my past professional life...

I would love to get a decent interview, I think it could really kick start some traffic. The problem I would probably have is thinking of enough questions!
How are most of the online interviews conducted? via E-Mail or something?

Most online interviews are done via email, yes, but if someone wants to have a written interview with me, I prefer to do it via chat as their answer to my question may spawn follow-up questions.

Vertexity I have done numerous interviews. I have interviewed artists Phil Roberts and Jonathon Earl Browser, Country singer Andrew Dean and Children's author Robert Munsch among others. All the interviews I have done have been via email.

I have had several people in mind but probably won't actively look for interviews until this time next year. I have too much going on right now to do an interview justice, and I hate doing anything "half way"..

How about interviewing the older people in your own family. They won`t live forever!
