Is it ethical to bookmark your own blog on Social Bookmarking sites?

I don't see why not. Alone you really can't influence things. It takes a large number of epople doing the same to really make a diference. So it all comes back to good content in the end anyways. :)

I do sometimes. All of these social bookmarking sites need SOME way to learn about your blog or your post and if the rest of the community thinks it is good, then it will do great. I don't think there is anything wrong with submitting your own sites and then just wait and see what others think!

As long as you don't spam the SB by constantly adding every one of your posts it can be fine. I know a few people who got banned from Netscape and reddit because they were simply submitting all of their own and not really participating in any other way.
But if you partake in voting and submitting other sites in combination to your own you are probably fine.

It would take a really coordinated effort to rig systems like digg or reddit in your favor, and most people don't care if it's yours or not as long as it's interesting. You'll be fine.

For every time I submit one of my own posts or links to a social networking site, I try to recommend three others. I've never been banned thus far but try hard to not overdo it.

to be clear, delicious and magnolia are social bookmarking sites. Sites like Digg and Reddit are news sites. With delicious and magnolia, hell yeah bookmark your own stuff. Digg and reddit however, tend to frown on such as your definition of "news" may be a little biased by the fact that you wrote the article. Let someone seed it for you.
Other forums I know have started their own "seed this" mailing list which still defeats the purpose, imo, but does allow you to get 3rd-party seeding and usually get 5-10 diggs to give it some legs.

I would have to say that it is fine. Of all the things you could do that are wrong, this is not one of them.

ShoutWire & DropJack are also good ones to submit to - and they're completely okay with blog author submitting their own articles.
I have submitted a couple of my own items to StumbleUpon and the traffic influx was a serious kick in the pants. Although it was mostly a short burst of new visitors, I do believe I gained new readers/subscribers for each of these.
Are there other sites that we should know about and be submitting to?

There are so many out there anymore and someone making a new one every day. I think the main ones are covered in general. But yeah, it would be great to know if there is something else we are missing!

If it isn't against the site's terms of service, I don't see why not.
That said, on some sites (like digg), it might not be against the TOS to submit your own site, but it is frowned upon by users and might just get your story buried.
