Music plays a HUGE role in my life and I know a lot of people like music, so what is your music taste?

I think mine would be best represented by showing my last.fm (http://www.last.fm/user/ses5909/) profile.

Tell me about yours!

I really listen to mainly electro - think Ministry of Sound. It's probably because thats all they play in the clubs down here :D But I like it all the same. Shake and Pop is my fav song at the moment (don't know who made it though)

But - I do like rock/soft rock music, wolfmother, disturbed, placebo, kasabian, mcr.... I am thrashing my Wolfmother cd right now. (well, not right now - right now I am in class learning html and java hehe)

If it's only showing the white stripes, last.fm is being slow, come back in a little bit :)

edit: as for specific tastes I'll listen to nearly anything, but I tend to listen to alternative, punk, drum'n'bass, and rap the most.

Classical, Classic Rock (Queen is still my favorite group), Jazz (Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaghn, Cleo Laine), Big Band, Show tunes (love Andrew Lloyd Webber). After playing piano for nearly 50 years, I'm finally taking a tutorial on learning to play jazz. It's fascinating!

I usually don't listen while I work because when I do -- work stops!

I gravitate toward classic/hard/alternative rock with a smattering of blues and jazz.

It would be cool if signatures on the site allowed images to be used, then we could put our last.fm recent list right in our signature :p

Mostly hard rock, some heavy metal with some 80's "hair bands" mixed in. Of course I am open to a wide variety of music ... my iPod has people usually giving me odd looks when the random shuffles from Metallica to the Who, to Ludacris, to Garth Brooks, to Poison, etc. :P

really, that's awesome. Had did you find out it was him and why did you think it was restaurant staff? He's fairly tall and balding these days...

Let's see... hard rock, classic rock, alternative rock, classical music, (some, but not much) country (the ones that have a story to them, not this pop country garbage), blues on occasion...

But I won't listen to rap - ever. As I tell my friends, the record company executives took the "C" out to make it marketable.

Drum'n'bass primarily, but I also like old school metal, and amazing melodic stuff like Dido and Sarah McLaughlan.

Someone told us the next day that it was him. The only time I had ever "seen" him was on an episode of the Simpsons though so I wasn't the best person to spot him either.

I thought he was restaurant staff because he's part-owner of the place and was coming in and out of the kitchen a lot that night. :)

@ t(-.-t) - that's great!

You should get this James Taylor album (http://www.amazon.com/Best-James-Taylor/dp/B00007IT8S/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-1950614-7345615?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1185282359&sr=8-1). I don't know anyone that doesn't like James Taylor... even if you are a metal-head. Give your brain a break from the pounding and chillout...

Hey! I'm not often I see another Imogen Heap fan! Cool!

My musical tastes are all over the map! I'm a major Collective Soul (http://www.2dolphins.com/2007/07/collective-souls-afterwords-coming-soon.html) fan. I also like lots of mid-70s to 90s rock. I'm one of the few people I know who likes contemporary and/or smooth jazz, like Paul Taylor, Dave Koz, Keiko Matsui, and Eric Darius. I also like more contemporary country like Martina McBride, Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, and Diamond Rio. I'm not much for the nasal-tone, whiney newer junk they have the nerve to call R&B (Alicia Keys, please stick to the piano!), but I do like old Commodores, Aretha, Tina Turner, and some other true R&B greats. And I don't care much for rap or hip-hop stuff, but I do like Linkin Park & Evanescence...

It's difficult for me to make a list of bands I like, because there are several from which I only like one or two songs, but here goes: The Pixies, Erasure, The Killers (as remixed by the Pet Shop Boys), New Order, Shout Out Louds (once Tommie Sunshine got his hands on them), Hellogoodbye (Tommie Sunshine again), Big Audio Dynamite II, Billy Bragg, Bowie, The Format, Me First & the Gimme Gimmes, The Clash, Shane MacGowan, Bikini Kill, The Hong Kong, Say Hi To Your Mom, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Sinead O'Connor, Oingo Boingo, Violent Femmes, X, and Yaz ("Situation").

Thought I should post here to clear up a couple things for my Twitter followers ;)

I listen to a wide variety of stuff, almost anything besides 'dance' music and heavy rock/metal. Lately I have found myself listening quite a bit to Keith Robinsons latest mix - http://www.dkeithrobinson.com/entry/take_and_tape_four/

Not usually my first choices, I hadn't heard of most of those before but some of it seems to be helping me work more which can't hurt!
