Do your comments get deleted?

I have tried posting comments on a particular blog a few times. This person I find amusing and I enjoy reading their blog but they never display my comments. I go back to see if they have responded and while other comments are there mine aren't. I don't spam people and they are all relevant so who knows. But they should publish my comments dammit!:mad:

I've sometimes found that despite submitting my comment it never went through, or it's gone into moderation and I guess got missed (although unless it's in Akismet I don't know how!).

Why not drop the blog owner an email asking if there's any reason why they won't publish your comments?

Well i thought of emailing or sending a message through MBL. I see the owner drop by several of my blogs which is why i went to theirs in the first place. I didn't want to seem like some crazy chick...hey i've commented 6.25 times and you still haven't published them. whats wrong with you?!?!

I wonder if it has something to do with Askimet? Is this only one blog that it's been happening on or quite a few?

I get pissed when it takes a blog owner a few days to approve a comment. If they were being deleted, I'd unsubscribe in a heartbeat. But that's me. If you really like the blog, maybe you should go ahead and be the diplomatic crazy chick who emails about her 6.25 posts?

they arent going to think youre crazy, and if they do, who doesnt want a crazy chick reading their blog. I dont know any blogger that will turn away real comments.

I don't think they'll think anything of it, just ask them nicely whats up. Maybe they are just not good at keeping up with their comments.

Bust seriously, keeping up with blog comments is pretty important. That's half the reason for owning a blog IMO.

You should email them, because it could be very well that Askimet is catching the comments. I know it was doing it to one of my reg readers. Thank goodness she emailed me.

i experience that sometimes. a glitch in the underworld caused your comment to be gone when u clicked the Send button. maybe.

I hope not ... I do write good meaningful comments and I would expect them to be approved. I also approve all good comments and enjoy the "play"

Only blog I've noticed this happening to me on is ilovecode. I think it's just some crazy person running it though so I understand when my comments don't make it through. :eek: :D

I find having my comments not published is a great way for me never to go back to a blog again...

I've never thought to moderate comments before publishing them to my blog, is it something that anyone else does? If so why have you decided to do it?
