Well??? Is there any particular reason you chose what you did?

2. One for content and one for navigation. I just didn't have a need for more.

I went from a two column to a three column finally. I wanted one for the usual non-image links (navigation) such as blogroll, links, archives, categories, etc and the other for any type of "bling" I decided I wanted there including advertising which I really need to start considering. I just hate to deter any readership because of ads. I think they call that "Advertisaphobia".

I chose three even though I technically have six. Three on top and three on the bottom.
Just allowed me more room to include everything so it wasn't all jammed up together.

I have a two column theme - but often wish that it were three :).

I went with three because I wanted the symmetry and it allowed me to balance the plethora of sidebar content on either side.

Well it's a 3 column theme, but there's also a 3 column in the footer, so maybe my theme is 6 column? hmmm

I've got just 2 columns, but I plan to do sort of a split 3 column. I guess parts will expand the whole 2 side columns, while other parts will occupy just 1 side colum. Make sense? :)
3 seems to be heading into the norm these days. Or very wide 2 columns.

Im happy with two as it puts the focus on the articles and not on the sidebars.

Just the standard 2 columns. I originally wanted to design a 3 column, but when you don't have much content to fill in, it looks pretty sad. When I actually have time to re-design mine we'll see how many I choose then. ;)

All three blogs I currently work on use two. I find that anything more makes things a little too crowded for my tastes.

Looks like it all comes down to personal taste.
2 columns on the blog itself and the layout has a right column throughout the forums/directory and blog to have the same layout

I'm using 3 because I wanted a decent sized content area, without it being too large. I ended up using the phi ratio, which left me with a sidebar too big for 1 column, but which takes 2 quite nicely. :)

I'm currently using two. I used to have 3 columns. Nothing special.

Two, with a footer which becomes a third column if enough screen space is available.

It's three, right now, and I have a preference for three, but I have no idea how many columns it'll be tomorrow.
