Where to get images for my blog

On my family blog, I use photos all the time.

On my new blog, I want to use photos and illustrations because I think it's more attractive.

Can anyone suggest good public domain clip art and image sites? What is the accepted protocol when using these types of images?

I second sxc.hu. Most of the images are free for personal and even busienss use. Each image will say. As for clipart, I'm not sure. I've been buying my graphics from istockphoto lately. You can get them pretty cheap.

I would figure as a teacher, you guys would have a ton of clip art :P
