On your blog titles, what words are you suppose to capitalize and what words are you not? This is something that I have always wondered about. I usually just do whatever and capitalize them all except for the words like "or" or something.

I usually aim to capitalise the main words, not the 'stop words' such as and, or, the etc. I sometimes think a two letter word with a capital letter looks a little lost.

Of course, the best method for SEO is not to use stop words, but then your titles wouldn't always flow very well!

I'm the same as Sarah. I try to title it like I used to title my book reports...or a book for that matter.

I think it's a matter of preference. As SarahG said, I wouldn't cap the stop words unless...

To Be or Not To Be?

Ok, thanks everyone. In my ignorance, I didn't even realize the words like "or," "the," etc., were called "stop" words. That's how I try to write titles too.

A handy resource to have if you can pick up a used copy for 10 bucks or so. It will answer most of your formatting questions. That reminds me, I need to find my copy as I have been getting sloppy lately :(

I left this thread because I was going to give the same advice that the others did, when I realised that I don't write mine like titles at all! I just write them like phrases, with capitals for the first word and proper nouns only. Huh.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I know I could definitely use it.

Thanks for the recommendation. Always good idea to touch up on these things! Sometimes Google just won't answer all your questions.
