The blogosphere is small

More and more lately I am seeing people's faces pop up in the MBL widget or seeing comments from readers that I know or have seen elsewhere.

Last week I found this blog called Stuff By Sarah (http://www.stuffbysarah.net/) and I liked it so subscribed and have continued going back. Today I noticed a post where she mentioned Deron!

It can be a small world sometimes!

There is a lot of networking involved in a lot of blogs..

You have people citing parts from one blog, with a link. You have blogrolls, members, links in comments...they're everywhere. It's got to help got your blog passed around if it is half decent.

You are right, the more I'm cruising the blogosphere the smaller it does seem.
I'm not sure whether this is because I'm covering more ground or if it is actually that small.

It makes me wonder how many completely undiscovered blogs there really are out there.

I definitely notice this too. Seems that when I stumble or just wander through various blogs lately there's a 50-50 chance of seeing Sara's face or Paul's Futurama avatar.

But yeah, I think we probably end up creating little circuits that we send each other through with our own social bookmarks, links and blogrolls - but there's a bunch out there we're not seeing because it's outside of our circle.

It makes me wonder how many completely undiscovered blogs there really are out there.

Yeah I wonder this too. Seems all of the blogs I visit have the MyBlogLog widget added on and it seems I recognize all of the avatars usually. lol. With millions of blogs out there, it seems we're all roaming around the same hundred or so.

I ended up blogging (http://www.epursuit.net/blog/how-to-get-your-blog-discovered/) about it (imagine that) - with tips on how bloggers can step up and get noticed.

I think its just because there are only a small sub set of people who blog and also emphasize networking with other bloggers.

:) Yep, I noticed that also. I remember seeing the email notification come in that I received a comment about the time I was clicking submit on yours.
