Do you use a standard theme?

Just wondering how many people here use an Off-the-shelf theme that is available to everyone. I like to have my themes custom to my sites, but I am planning on offering free themes to TBE members to use which will be more unique than if everyone can download them.

So... is your design unique or is it publicly available? I'm curious to know why people would choose a non-unique theme aside from the cost and time involved in creating one.

Mine is public and free, although quite a few changes have been done that it really only vaguely resembles the stock theme.

I don't have the skill to make my own from scratch, and after receiving positive feedback from readers about the layout, I figured I could just customize it from there to meet my needs.

Custom here. The trick though is to not think of a blog when you're designing it. Just start with a blank canvas and fresh HTML/CSS and go from there. The import it to WordPress. :)

Since I started using Wordpress, just like I said before, I became lazy making my own layouts.

Sara, I would love to see your free themes soon. Make it colorful, okay? :p

I don't know how to make themes but I should probably learn :) (in the first stages of Learning JavaScript at the moment at Uni and am going to self teach myself CSS since I am pretty good with html) Mine is totally public and free on word press. And a little bit ugly lol.

Well, I make my own themes. I kind of miss using WP just for the themes since my coding skills arefar better than my design skills.

I use the default wordpress theme, but it doesn't show that much :D

I have a wrapper throughout the entire site and customized the theme a lot.

I use a custom theme as well. I don't think I'd get away with writing about blog design if I was using a free theme. :D
