I love this wordpress plugin and I'm going to bet you can do something similar in other blogs (if any of you typepad, blogger, etc., people know please pipe in). From the person commenting on blogs, it's nice to be able to easily see the rest of the comments of a post without having to remember to go back to the blog and read.

I wish there was something like that for TypePad basic. I subscribe a lot on other blogs that have it.

I didn't think anyone really subbed to it, but I can see now how it can be useful. I think I'll include it when I launch my blog. :)
I have never subscribed to comments on ANY blog so I haven't added that feature to mine.

Reading more blogs this week I am wishing they really had this. I am trying to be good about commenting when I have something to add but when I comment, I definitely want to know if the person responded WITHOUT having to remember the page. For blogs I subscribe to or frequent regularly, this isn't as big of an issue. but for blogs I am just discovering, it would be great because Im not sure I want to subscribe yet!
And yes Moses... that is a feature I really hadn't looked at before you mentioned it!

That was one of the first plugins I installed when I went from Wordpress.com to my own install. Since then I've added a few others including Live Comment Preview (http://dev.wp-plugins.org/wiki/LiveCommentPreview) and most recently, WP Ajax Edit Comments (http://www.raproject.com/wordpress/wp-ajax-edit-comments/) which gives the reader a certain given amount of time to edit their comment if they happen to see a glairing mispeling eror. Can't do enough for those who take the time to leave a comment :p

Thank yaass!
Just added it from the links in here :)
I have seen it in use and subscribed to a few that I wanted an answer to or to see others opinions. Handy plugin :)

I think about adding that for weeks now and I definitely plan to add that to my blog - but unfortunately this functionality isn't available yet for my platform and I have to implement it myself - and time's rare these days ;-).

Just because YOU don't do something, isn't a good reason to deprive your visitors of a feature many of them may want.
I've never subscribed to comments, however I see many of my visitors do since I gave them the option.

I don't use it. I subscribed one time to comments on a blog post, thinking that if the blogger replied, it would notify me. Big mistake. The particular post had dozens of comments and my inbox was deluged with them.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I'd like to be able to offer it, but I haven't gotten around to looking into something I can use with Blogger. One of these days...

I'm proud to announce that after over 3 months since this post was made, and about 6 months before wanting to do it before that, I've finally added this plugin.
Yes, I suck, and I'm sure this will help promote more comments, but I'm terribly lazy sometimes.

Oh Jeremy, I'm right there with you. Good job getting it done though! I think this is one of those features that is just nice to offer your readers. It makes their lives easier.
