A friend's kid wants to start a blog.

Before I setup a WordPress install for him on my server, I was just wondering if there were any big (free) blog hosts that allowed you to host with your own domain name. (Obviously, the domain name has to be purchased.)

I don't care if it has ads on it.

you could forward domains to a blogger / wordpress account.

I no longer have the web address but there is a kid safe free blogging host on the web. You don't want an unprotected site for a kids blog.

You can map a domain to wordpress.com (http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/10/24/domain-mapping-registration/)

You can also use www.awardspace.com as well.

You can assign a custom domain name to a free blogger account, too.

You can just point the domain name to his free host (WordPress, Blogger, etc.)
