Technorati Authority

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question, but I didn't know where to ask it.

I was just curious if anyone else's Technorati Authority has actually went down? It looks to me like I've gained one link in but yet my Authority dropped. How do you gain a link and have it drop? lol

Not that it really bothers me, just curious.

I believe the Authority number is on a rolling six month schedule. So for example, if you got 10 new links in March, but only gained 6 new links in august, you could see your number go down.

It isn't an all-time record, but rather takes a snapshot of the past six months, so you could see some fluctuation from time to time.

Yup,and this was done to prevent older blogs from gaining a far superior authority over newer ones.
