View Full Version : Saving Drafts and Future Post

Rodaniel brought up a good question about using future posts and I'm curious how many people use them.
I create a draft anytime i think of an idea. If I'm in a writing mood and can crank out for blog posts, it doesn't make sense for me to post them all at once, but instead to post them in the future and space them out a little bit. Who else does this?

I do the very same thing. I blog as topics come to mind. I just publish from my archive every few days.

I do this too, and I'm very glad to know that I'm not the only one. I like to space some of my posts out a bit, so I don't see a reason to post all of my work all at one time. It saves me a lot of work in the future.

I write down any ideas that pop into my head for future posts, but if I start writing an article and have something come up I'll save it as a draft to finish later. Making a draft of future ideas is a good idea actually.

I have a few unfinished drafts(articles) saved right now. Generally this is how I do it. I get in the mood to write a few reviews and then publish 1 each day. Though I have been slacking lately as I have not bought any new CD's.

I just know if I have an idea for a post and don't write it down, 10 minutes later I will forget. My short-term memory is horrible right now.

I go thru spells where I'm thinking of all sorts of great blog topics so I jot 'em down in Google Notebook pronto. Then I revisit, refine, tweak, and massage those little ideas into something worth posting. Often, a post might have taken 45 minutes to create, but is the culmination of a handfull of little 5-10 minute quickie edits instead of a single chunk of writing time.
Having a few draft ideas stashed away often bails me out when I hit a dry spell and can't think of anything to blog about...

I write 'em in Word, code em in my html editor and then copy and paste them into a draft.

I can't do this. Saving a post as a draft, for more than an hour or so, just ensures that that post will never be published. I have to finish it while I'm still interested.

Hey, if it works for you that's what matters, but whew! that seems like a lotta work!

Actually it's much easier. Word has the spelling and grammar functions I like and my html editor has a plug in where I can put the tags on all paragraphs, lists, and list items at once.
So I copy/paste it from word to my editor and then from there to my WP Admin. Works like a charm. :)
