Wordpress is a pre-made blog (a series of .php and other files that work together to make the functionality happen).

Aww... that is just too humble, and of course you're NOT stupid to ask this question. To make things easy, let's take Blogspot as an example, when you sign up for a Blogspot account, drop the domain thing first, say you registered as "dreamr802" then your blog address would be dreamr802.blogspot.com

Similarly, if you sign up for Wordpress, it allows you to blog too! And if you're using the free account, it would be dreamr802.wordpress.com

Bottom line is, it's a place for you to blog. :)

wordpress is just a blog platform, so the script that alows you to setup and post to your blog.
