I really haven't made anything to brag about, but someone who did contact me through my blog turned out to be a really good client!

Nada. Which is why you should NEVER take my advice about blogging.

Not true. You have a great style of writing and there are plenty of bloggers who never even think about monetizing their blog...that is how I used to me. But when I heard how people can make money, i figured...whats the harm in that? I put so many hours into my blog(s), why not try and earn something from my hobby.

I have never made any money from blogging, but I've never tried to. It has never been my intention to make money by blogging, but I might think about it in the future.

It depends...on average my earning are $15-$20 per day, but in the summer it was a little bit less.

Not bad going Adalante. I've found the summer pick up for me though. This month I'm at $94.14 so far with adsense and some lose change from affiliate progs, on a niche blog/site I've been running for 3 months.
By the way, it's not the blog in my signature, that's just 10 days old....

$000,0000,000 per year.

I know, it's a lot of zero's to count. :)

The most I made off of my blog in one day was $130 (give or take a few dollars). This was from a web hosting and domain registration commission from CJ.

It's really hard to put a solid number on it thought because that same person also turned into a client of mine.

My best adsense day was $77.45 I believe. I wish they could all be that good :D

I guess if I factored in a day where I received prepayment for a text ad, adsense for the day, etc. that would be a $500+ day.

Monthly business: $422
Single Day Payments actually received in account: $115
Have to wait another two months before I can say what my average stats are going to be, given I keep my daily actions standardized.

Best single offer: $100 yearly link, paid within 24 hours after posted to my site.

Nothing on my current blog. On an old one I was getting a about £100 or so a year thanks to Google ads and Amazon links. Mainly thanks to family and friends who'd use the Amazon links when ever they remembered they could.

I haven't monetized my blogs -- at least not yet.

adsense is really pathetic for me. about a few cents a day.
as of last month, the highest i made was around 400 for 2 private advertisers.

adsense didn't work well for me so far.

my other ads are getting a few RM a day while i currently get products from private sponsors. :) oh well, it's a start.

I make enough on adsense to pay for the hosting of my VPS. Meh. But, if you count the leads generated for my programming services ... definitely worth while.

Hey, a fellow Michigander. Don't even get me started on the state budget and taxes!

Oh, and since it has been a while since this thread got started, I reached a new milestone last month and made over $2k for september. I could only hope it would keep that up, but I doubt it.

$2kFreakin' 'A'!

Jeremy, I've heard about people having to 'buy' before they get 'traffic' that get's them 'paid'. What's the best site for learning about your monetizing practices, or did you have to shell out money up front like I've heard people do?

I haven't spent a penny other than hosting fees, and prior to a few months ago, that was $3.99/month. Now it is closer to $15.

And when I say 2k last month, I'm counting actual payments received. That includes some people who have purchased six months of a text link up front, so next month that particular advertiser won't be buying again. But luckily, each month usually brings a new advertisers or a renewal, so it is becoming more steady.

There is no secret, just a lot of hard and honest work. I've been at this for almost exactly 1 year now, and for the first 4 or 5 months, I don't think I made a penny. Once I got a public page rank, and slowly began to climb in the SERPs, more money came.

Adsense was terrible up until just a few months ago, but with the number of search referrals it has began to reach $300+/month alone. But the bread and butter is through text links, and I'm ashamed to say, I don't even use TLA yet. I'm too lazy to sign up for it, but all of the text links are bought privately. In some cases for over $50/month per link.

That's all I have done really. I haven't used any traffic exchange schemes, or bought advertising or traffic. In fact, my site traffic is pretty low. But, over time it has done well enough for people to want to buy links on the site :)

Have you considered publishing an ebook on the subject? I'll bet there are many who would be glad to pay you for the information.

I prefer indirectly monetizing my blog - i.e. writing worthwhile content about other services and such - but only when they're good, or i slate the sh*t out of it.. for instance, i got almost 200 people referred to s&p from my blog which is worth about $10 a day, i got quite a few adsense referrals.. all in all i think you can make more this way, depending on your audience.

my audience is mainly seo'ers and webmasters - meaning they're a lot less likely to click adsense stuff (digg crowd etc). think about your audience if you're trying to make some $. personally, my blog is more of a notepad for me, rather than an income stream.
