I need ideas....Should a blog be something personal or should it be a topic that a lot of people can relate to?

It should be something you're interested in. If you're not interested in the topic, more than likely the passion to write about the topic won't last.

Generally, with six billion people surfing the net today, regardless of what you write about, someone out there will relate to it. So just do your thing and work on promoting and getting your name out there.

I agree with the above poster 100%. I love to write and I want my blog to be on something that I find easy to write about. It will make it so much easier for me to keep up on daily.

I swore I just answered this question but I think I'm losing my mind :p

Your blog should definitely show some personality no matter how "professional" your topic is. I recently wrote about how to make your blog personal (http://www.theblogexperiment.com/blog/2007/08/08/lets-get-personal/).

It's okay, you're just finding out what the rest of us have known for a while. :)
