Over the past few days, I have seen the same wordpress theme on over 10 blogs. Now, I realize there are so many with the same theme but I don't usually run into the same thing over and over again. Do you ever get tired of seeing the same theme?
Even when I used preexisting themes, I tried to modify them to make them a little more unique for me. Am I being a theme snob?

No -- I would always want to modify a theme to make it "mine". Same as hanging new drapes or painting walls in a new house.

Nah that's not being snobbish, actually same theme makes people feel bored. And I will change my header once a while but not now. :P

A unique theme goes a long way to making your site more rememberable.
But modifying a free theme can do just as good a job as paying for a completely unique one.

All I know is that I hate seeing the default Kubrick theme. Other than that one, I'm not much bothered. However, seeing completely unique theme is much more pleasant.

Yes, it happens to me a lot because i see people using my themes, but like what BlogBookmark said, you have to modify your theme.

same themes are fine because you have to understand that sites like blogger would generally offer the same theme.
even if one hosts their own blog engine like WP, that doesn't mean they know how to edit the CSS and other stuff.
easiest way is to get some other theme and hope no one bumps into another that's same as the one you've chosen. :D
for me, i made my own theme. :) that's because it's within my skill range.

Crap. You're complaining about seeing the same WordPress themes? You WPers have themes out the rear, even if you just use the ones WP provides. TypePad has, like, five.
I don't like seeing default / stock themes. I use sometimes default themes, but modified a lot. I like a unique look and it has paid off

Kubrick - ugh I'm so tired of it
Hemingway - better than Kubrick but still way played out by now
It's pretty easy to change a color or font or add an image. Some people just don't care though.

I don't know why anyone would use one of those 2 default themes that come with any WP install. I guess it's fear. Fear of opening up any files and "wrecking stuff". To the non initiated it is scary stuff.
And the blogger templates are dull. And just 16 to choose from.I see that minima white or minima dark all the time.

Yeah, I do kinda agree. One theme inparticular (The "John Chow" theme) is getting on my nerves.
I'd love to see him change his theme for a week, and see how many people change with him!
