I have incorporated adsense into the forum today. I'm hoping to eventually be able to make some of the money back that I've invested so far and then enable me to offer more in prizes and upgrades to the community!

Something I want to do is an adsense revenue sharing program. What that means is basically, if you start a thread in the forums, the adsense will rotate between TBE's account and your account so YOU could actually make some money as well. I know this is possible and there is a VB hack for it. My only fear is someone would continually click on their ads in hopes they would make some money...resulting in us both getting banned and having it ruined for all of the members.

There are forums that have this so I just need to do some research to see exactly what happens if a member abuses it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I think digitalpoint started the first revenue sharing program? Why not ask someone there, you may also want to contact adsense.

Would this be a bad time to mention that I use the AdBlock.css file for Opera?

Not at all. That is perfectly fine. But for the people who don't and who may be wondering what's up, I figured I'd let everyone know.

I think it's an excellent idea, woman, but I get your concerns. Just contact google firstly and let us know what they told you :)

You're right. They've used it for a few years now successfully.

I don't think adsense would be too tricky. I'm sure they would see that there are a number of adsense id's on a one site, and just penalise one of them.

Interesting though :)

I've always heard that Adsense approved of the revenue sharing programs, but you never know. I'd try to contact Google (if you can get a hold of them)

Don't dream of a high revenue .. Adsense didn't work for me at all.. in web related sites people are ad blind or something like that. I also have a revenue sharing program on my forums and from 1000 members NO ONE was interested. I am not interested to be sincere ..not even on DP or namepros ...

Anyway .. let's hope you do have a better luck .. the project here is very nice and it does deserve to make some revenue ;)

Yeah, I've got other ideas but I figured while the community grows I'd throw it up there.
