I'm having some trouble with the Recent Blog RSS feature here. No matter which feed address I put in, my last post will not show up. Any tips to get it to work?

I'm not sure Arwen. Which blog exactly are you trying to link to? I can look at the xml being spit out and see what the difference is between yours and everyone else's.

Hi Sara,

It's my personal blog: arwentaylor.com. I looked at each of the feeds and they seem okay. However I do have a plugin installed that redirects my feed address to my Feedburner link. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for looking :)

Ok, I played with it a little bit and it definitely has something to do with your rss feed. When I put my rss feed in your profile, it worked immediately. I think there is some setting in your feedburner account that might be throwing it off. If you click on the link:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/ses5909

and then look at your's, you will see the way the feed is displayed is differently.

Sara, that shouldn't make a difference, it's just the Feedburner 'pretty' landing page. My blogs don't go there (despite setting them to) but my posts still work here.

Arwen, comparing your /feed/ link to my /feed/ link there are two tags different. One I believe is down to you telling feedburner to not allow robots to index the feed (I think, but it mentions robots anyway). The other, which I think is the source of the problem is that your items are missing the following tag

<feedburner:origLink>http://www.stuffbysarah.net/blog/2008/06/30/playing-with-jquery/</feedburner:origLink>

Which as you can see, in my latest post contains the full direct permalink link to my post. See the guid tag only contains the non-permalink version. I'm guessing the plugin used on the forum looks for specific tags, although I'd have thought that guid would be one of them.

Anyway, that, I believe, is what's causing the problem. As Sara said though, check your FB settings as something in there will be causing this tag to not display in the feed. Possibly the robots indexing option, but as I said, that's just a guess.

Thanks Sarah, I didn't know you could have a nicer landing page so assumed that something might have been off there.

Yeah that's an option in FB somewhere. Optimise or Publicise, one of those two. Although it seems to be a bit temperamental as I've got mine checked and they don't show up on all the feeds!

Thanks Sarah for looking into that for me. I've been so busy with offline stuff but I will look into the fix you posted. :)

One thing to check is if you are going through feedburner that you DO NOT have the creative commons feature selected. For some reason when you do your RSS feed does not show up on vBulletin forums.
