Patience my dear!

Basically RSS Stands for "Really Simple Syndication". Why do you care? Well it let's people subscribe to your blog so when they go check in their feed reader (I recommend google reader (http://www.google.com/reader)) so anytime you make a post, everyone who has subscribed will know it! That is a good thing for you and for growing your blog. Repeat readers are a good thing!

I use my live bookmark of my browser, which is Firefox.
Like for example, I will be clicking your feed http://girlabouttheworld.wordpress.com/feed/ and add it. So I don't have to check your site over and over just to see if you updated your site, or you post a new entry. That's it.

As far as a user goes it allows me to keep track of content from 100's of sites in one location, making it easy for me to browse through the content to find articles of interest to me.

As doorlight mentioned this prevents me from having to remember to visit each site hoping they have added new content each day.

There are a few sites I visit that offer no RSS feed and they annoy me to no end. :)

If I wanted to offer RSS feed, how would I go about it? Is there a special plug in or something?

You already have feeds at both of your blogs, Calypso. I'm subscribed to them. ;)

To be more exact RSS is a standardised method for describing blog posts and similarly-structured data using XML. XML is a platform and language independent tag-based language for describing data in a way that it can be read by any scripting or programming language easily.
