What are the first things you do when you launch a blog?

I'm curious to know what are some of the first things to do when you launch a blog?

I set up feedburner and then I go to technorati and claim my blog. What do you do?

Umm... I think about where it is going to go....and then I start writing. But I'm just in it for the writing and ranting. Although I did add Technorati to one blog...

Oh how it looks is a really huge thing. And thats a little hard for me because I can't write code (yet) so I usually try and find some really nice layout... I know I such a newbie to all this :blush:

The first thing that I do is I research. I look at other blogs in my niche and take some notes about the layout, content, and ways that they attract people. This helps me lay out my blog, as well as to write the entries.

Well, i usually do the same (technorati and feedburner), plus i try to add my blog to some directories though most would reject if it's still a vey new blog.
