How do you feel about a rectangle Google ad being placed in an actual article and the text going around it? Like an image but a Google ad instead?

If done properly, they are just fine. I do this on my site, and it is by far my best monetizing ad unit.

I think this depends on the topic of the blog, to be honest.

I decided not to run them on my blog I think it would interfere with the content too much. I feel the same about going to sites giving tutorials etc they just get in the way.

On the other hand, if the site is reviewing products or services then the ads often provide relevant links that add to the content.

I have a terrible time monetizing my blog.

I kinda dislike them in articles, but this is just me, I get sick of all this advertising, even if in the end we all live from this. I never tried this and I think I wouldn't do this. My blog is web development related and something tells me my readers would have the same reaction as I have :D

google adsense brings no money so there's no point in wasting your inventory

Yep, you're right. Adsense is worthless, it is a wonder they even keep the program running. I guess when google sends my April check that covers my mortgage payment, I should return it to them.

Wish my AdSense check was that big. I get a little, but it certainly wouldn't cover a mortgage.

It will if you keep at it. Adsense revenue increases with search engine traffic. As you grow and begin to slowly build search engine rankings to drive traffic, you should see your earnings increase.

The reason most relatively new bloggers are so down on Adsense is simply because it can take six months to a year just to make enough to get your first check, let alone produce steady income. So it is easy to get discouraged and think that isn't working.

i think the ads will depend too on your blog topic. but as a reader also it makes us get annoyed with too much ads coming out in the article. it lose interest and concentration. if possible try to lessen the ads and i guess you can set that.
