I get the most referrers from one Wikipedia article I edited. And those people stay on the blog for longer than average.

I run a podcast about beer (http://yournextbeer.wordpress.com).

Since we talk about a specific beer each week, I go out to Wikipedia and search for that beer. If I have something to add to that page I add it and add a link to the post page of the podcast.

I'm doing this very above board, it wouldn't take any work at all to realize that the person editing the article also created the podcast.

I'm not suggesting any bloggers spam Wikipedia, but if you have a blog post the represents new verifiable research that is germane to Wikipedia then I would encourage you to get involved in that community.

Nice. Yeah, the merchant account blog (http://www.merchant-account-services/com/blog/) gets most of its traffic from wikipedia as well.

Cool idea for a beer podcast. I took notice of Hoegaarden because I'm living in Belgium and it's from Belgium. Belgium is definitely known for its "White" beers. The best would be Chimay Blanche if you can get hold of one. And if you can, make sure you save the name of the store so when we move to your area, we can get some too!

I get most of my traffic from midget porn sites. Ever since I did that photoshoot with the cast of Willow, dressed in their Willow costumes, I've been a cult phenomenon.

Aside from that Google.

Google, MSN, Stumble Upon and Digg

StumbleUpon, although google is right up there as well. Search traffic is fairly steady and predictable whereas SU can drive some high numbers from time to time.

Just had to revive this thread because I found it in the trash (literally it was in the forum where I put all of the spam).

I was going to make a thread today talking about how much traffic SU brings me. The Wordpress themes page got stumbled by a few people today which brought in a few hundred new visitors and a couple led to a couple registrations here. coool.

Over the past 30 days the Stylegala forums have been my best source, closely followed by Google.

Being Stumbled gave me some nice spikes, but no long term traffic (as you'd expect)

So far this week (more than a week is a pain to get) most of my traffic is from SU.

StumbleUpon - 55
search.live.com - 49
mrzero.co.uk - 17
The Blog Experiment - Blogging Resource (http://www.theblogexperiment.com) - 7
Bloggeries Blog Directory and Resource! (http://www.bloggeries.com) - 7

Google is 10th with only 4 hits :(

The past 7 days the top 3 traffic sources:

google (organic) 1,414 34.37%
(direct) ((none)) 684 16.63%
stumbleupon.com (referral) 376 9.14%

Usually SU is number 2, but the past few months I haven't been participating in SU nearly as much, so the numbers have suffered :( I need to get back into it.

first is gameriot.com I guess cause I blog on there a lot as well and they have a huge gamer network, they are kinda like the social blog network for WoW gamers. 2nd would be sc2armory.com as I'm their top affilate, 3rd would be stumbleupon

Google and SU take the cake here as well, but the biggest contributing blog for me has always been ProBlogger.

Over the past month:

Google Image Search - 22%
StumbleUpon - 16%
Children's Int'l Hope - 10%

(The 3rd one sends traffic to our RAJ blog, whereas the first 2 primarily send folks to the main 2Dolphins blog.)

I wrote a wee article a couple of weeks ago that was Stumbled in big style.

Since then I have had 25,000 hits from them!!! Definitely my biggest referrer.

Probably the next is Google looking for "senior p0rn" :naughty:

My blog is a very small thing. Once I got a lot of visitors in one day that were coming from Buzz.com. Most of my visitors come from google or afterellen.com

Mine has changed quite a lot. There were 75 uniques during Sept with most being from here. This month, there have been 538 uniques with most from StumbleUpon.

Stumble upon did send me a lot of traffic once, but the popularity died down quickly. Other than that, I get traffic from google for my blogs which are full of content and for those with no content, the most traffic tends to come from My Roomie. Commenting on other blogs helps a bit too, as does writing in forums.

I find the digital point forun sends me the most traffic. I got over 90 views from them in 2 days.

I think is has to do with the latest blog post being displayed with all posts.

I posted the above a couple of weeks ago and the Stumble traffic is still coming in. I have now had over 30,000 hits on the one article. They are now coming in at over 1,000 a day.

It wasn't even a very good article!

1. stumbleupon
2. google
3. yardbarker

at least once a week I try to make a post thats "stumble" friendly. Which means it instantly catches the eye and doesn't require more than 3 seconds to grasp. It has to be something that can be consumed relatively fast....

What i've found sorta surprising about Stumble visitors is my bounce rate with them is usually really good. Stumblers go on to visit other pages of my blog more often than not. Which is a stark contrast to googlers who instantly leave.

I'm starting to get a decent trickle of traffic in from BloggingZoom. Not much, mind you, but significantly more than what I've gotten with BlogRush or some other social sites like ShoutWire, Thoof, Sk*rt, DropJack, etc.
