I am currently using Adsense and Amazon Affiliates. I'm not worried about CTR or anything right now, what I am worried about is the contextual content of the ads.

Amazon.com lets me pick my products that I'm advertising, but Adsense is putting up things that are anti-my blog.

I run an advice blog for husbands, and the Adsense ads that are appearing are links to divorce counselors, links to ads that say things like "Is your husband a pig?" and so on.

Anyone have some good ideas for affiliate programs, or other ad programs, that might work a little better?

In AdSense you can list up to 200 URLs of sites you don't want to appear on your site, so why not make up a list of all the advertisers you've seen so far that you don't want there and just keep adding to it. You should hopefully start to get better ads.

Alternatively there are plenty of programs similar to adsense - clicksor, Yahoo publisher network, kontera, adbrite.

Alternatively look at somewhere like Text Link Ads, Linkworth.

Is it possible for you to elaborate your points much more?

Maybe I can help.

Adsense has a section that allows you to enter up to 200 web address to block from showing on your site.

When you see the ads, write down the web address displayed in the ad. Then go to your Adsense control panel and enter that address into the banned list. Ads from that website will not show on your website again.
