Guys and gals, I did a tiny SEO test about the value of anchor text in the backlinks, but I was really surprised to see the results that I actually saw.
Without much details a lame blog (by "lame" I mean the blog that in my opinion has low authority in the eyes of search engines) with less than 10 backlinks has beaten over 200 backlinks from such a trusted resource as Thumbshots.org (that I simply love).
Surely after you see the proofs you can say that playing with anchor text of the backlinks is not simple, and that backlinks must be from authority sites and many other part of the puzzle. But still - it is like it is - wise anchor text can beat the high number of high authority backlinks. This is exactly what my experiment about online link popularity check test (http://b-l-o-g-g-e-r.com/2008/01/17/online-link-popularity-check-how-text-on-link-makes-seo-wonders/) shows.
So, if you are looking for a way to improve your search engine ranks - you know what to do :)
