What is your Technorati rank?

Mine is 1,143,529 (http://technorati.com/blogs/www.merchant-account-services.org/blog) for my merchant account blog (http://www.merchant-account-services.org/blog/).

I know that isn't very high but it is such a specific and focused niche that I'm not disappointed with that number. Hopefully once Google starts to give it some love that number will improve.

Quite disapointing for me since some of my friends in the same niche with even less traffic/subscribers have a significantly higher rank. They said one of the keys they found to getting a high rank was to submit to a few blog carnivals every week. That generally generates a lot of diverse backlinks over time which boosts the overall rank.

Not that I put much into following Technorati since I really don't get any traffic from it but I rank in at 4375 (http://technorati.com/blogs/snook.ca?reactions), with authority at 665.

Technorati is too easily skewed by blog templates or any other distributed web project with embedded links. If you're looking for a good way to increase your rank, release a wordpress template.

The ranking is based solely on incoming links (as far as I can tell) which means the only way to skew it would be to set up a link farm and link like mad. You can also try commenting on other blogs but not sure how effective that is.

I can never make head nor tail of all these rankings and whatnots.

Apparently my blog has a ranking of 49,101 and an authority of 117 [which was 125 a couple of weeks ago!!].

I have a Google ranking of 5 and an Alexa ranking of 463,828 [which was around 600,000 a couple of weeks ago]

I haven't the faintest idea what all these numbers mean.

Are they good, or should I go and shoot myself??
