I'm new here, and I'd like to submit my site to the gauntlet.

I've been running it in its current form for about 9 months. I used a customized Wordpress theme (Vistered Little) and my own photography.

Hello there,
I already commented that I found your blog very interesting!

I like how it looks as well. The only thing that is general is that I find it more difficult to read white on black instead of black on white, so I select the text to read it easier.

(You have some great photos over there as well.)

I couldn't find 'about me' page and it took me a while to spot FAQ page. Maybe you could move list of pages up, or even put some navigational links in the header.

Hope this helps. :)

I agree with the Faq page. It took me a while to figure out why you started this blog and I was looking for an introductory post that really explains it all. If you have one, it would be great to link to it.

Noted.

My header sucks. Part is a function of the theme I use. I think there is too much space between the title and the Flickr photo badge. I'm not sure how to fix it.

You will notice all the pods of stuff I have on the left column. I'm never sure what order I should put things. I put the RSS at the top and I think that has made a huge difference, but other than that, I'm never sure.

I put all the networking stuff at the bottom, however. I don't want to throw that in the face of my readers.

My biggest problem with your blog is the font in the sidebar is way too small and I can't really see where things are as the page loads so slowly for my dialup. I love the photos though and it would be a good site for those with a faster internet connection. Alas, though, I live in the boonies and it is not an option.

It took a while, but I finally took everyone's advice and put up an About Me page.

I actually like your whole blog except that I find the background distracting. Great photo but I don't think it works well as a background.

My current theme doesn't deal with backgrounds well. I'm going to leave it until I get my redesign done I think. Then I'll have a lot more control and I might have more backgrounds to play with.

It's a tough decision:to either knock visitors out with an amazing background image and opaque borders and rounded corners and a flickr badge at the top of the page...or let them look at your post pics and read what you have to say.

Sidebars are hard. What to put in, what to leave out? To avoid an overly cluttered kind of look I'd take out all the cute stuff. But I'm bitter and old so naturally I dislike that kind of thing.
The navigation shouldn't be so far down maybe put it over the rss and put less rss buttons?
