It's crossed my mind to add at blog to NiceStylesheet.
If there is anyone here experienced with CSS and would like to write some for a CSS site, please let me know. I would love to be able to do it by myself, but I just don't have time.
I really don't have anything to offer writers (sorry) besides the joy they would get for writing CSS articles  and a profile page telling about them with linkbacks to their other sites/work.
Hit me up if it's something you'd be interested in doing.

What exactly do you have in mind?

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of beginner tutorial CSS stuff. But, it could really be up to the author of the article what they wanted to write about as long as it was CSS related.
I know when I first started using CSS I was clueless. I just posted at SitePoint a lot and got help there. It seemed like there and on a lot of other sites when you get help, people are very quick to lend a hand and give you the code to fix something or do a certain technique, but usually leave out the "why" part. It's great to have the code needed to do what you want to do, but if you don't know why it works then you're still not learning.
Maybe there are some beginner sites/blogs out there like this and it wouldn't even be worth the time? I don't know...these are just some ideas.

Well, I've written a few "tutorial posts" that include the "Why?" as well as the "how", so feel free to count me in. Bear in mind I have a VERY busy schedule at the moment, so it may be a little while before I get anything in.

The idea is good deron, I'm just trying to think of a way it could work for you. There are so many css blogs out there that you would need to set yourself apart. Are there any specific topics you would like to see? Or how about a new approach?
Any unique content is good as it can help drive traffic, but I definitely think you want to either take an approach that hasn't been done before (maybe interview some of the people who are the highest rated in your gallery). Just my thoughts FWIW :D

Sounds great Dan, I appreciate you jumping on board. It will be a little while for myself anyway. I have to set up the blog portion of the site and re arrange the layout to support those features. Possibly in a month or two I'll touch base with you on this.

As far as specific topics...no, can't think of any specifics. I don't really want to limit what the authors can talk about, but then again, like any other blog, I don't want to talk about the same things that have already been talked about time and time again.
As for the interviews, now that's a great idea. Seems like an obvious thing to do, but it must have been to obvious because it had never crossed my mind. I'm definitely going to set this up Sara, thanks for the idea. I'll have to come up with some interview questions now though. What do you think? Maybe 10 at the most?
count me in.
Great! have you done any other CSS work besides the sites in your signature here? No problem if not.

deronsizemore, I work as a web designer. :) I do CSS on my clients' sites.

I'd be happy to get involved. After 6+ years of CSS coding I should be able to offer some sort of advice...
One idea (and I'm just thinking out loud here) to make your discussions different could be to set authors some sort of challenge? "3 people go do xyz in CSS" and then compare and contrast the results, because there is rarely one way to most things...

Great, glad you can help. :)
I like the idea! Very creative and something that I've not seen done before. My only concern is that it may feel to much like a "job" for the authors if I'm giving them stuff like that to do? I mean if everyone agrees and is one board, I'm all for doing something like that and we can all come up with a challenge together that we'd like to do. Since I'm not able to really give anything in return besides the authors getting links to their work and/or a profile page on the site I don't want to have any ground rules so to speak where the authors feel obligated to do extra work or post articles on a certain time frame. It would purely be a for fun thing for the authors on their own time with no expectations on my part at all because I don't want to tie someone down from their "real work" so to speak.

I can definitely throw my two cents in if you need any more help.

Yeah sure, thanks! I'll try to contact everyone when I'm closer to figuring everything out and exactly what I plan to do. Probably a month or two.
I'll keep in touch.

I'd be a good candidate for showing how "not" to do css. :D
But I do have an idea for you.
I know, for myself, even looking at Zen Garden, although I was impressed, there was no way I could figure out how they did what they had done when I first started learning css.
Since you are showcasing css designs, why not have your authors blog on the design of their site, what they wanted to accomplish with it and how they did it. It may give your readers more of a "hands on" approach to css.

Hey, that's not a bad idea there Linda! It would be pretty original if you ask me.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I was hoping that the authors would do something like this, but it's completely up to them. It's a good suggestion though. Like you, when I first started using CSS I went to CSS Zen Garden and was completely lost. I tried to go through the code, but it just wasn't working. I think it was a little to advanced for me at the time. The hands on learning is something that I like though. People would get to see how to do something exactly as it is on a real live site. A lot of the menu tutorials and stuff you see are all theory based and you don't actually see them on a live site.
I'll be hopefully interviewing the designers of the sites in the gallery. I'm thinking right now that I'll choose a designer every week or other week to interview and I'll post that on the site as well. The idea is to gain a little insight on how they did what they did on the site and why, so hopefully that will be interesting. The main obstacle there would be actually getting in contact with the owners of the sites in the gallery and getting them to fill out the interview questions in a timely manner so I could update the site.
