I ALWAYS misspell separate. I spell it seperate, and that looks right to me. But evidently it isn't :(.

targeting / targetting
separate / seperate

And I have a habit of typing 'mysql' when I mean to type 'myself'. That's what you get for switching off when you're typing.

I also do seperate. My biggest are not really mis-spellings, but mis-typings. I always type teh and eitehr and anything where an h is suppossed to come before an e, and apparantly the words supposed and apparently too. ;)

I misspell a ton of words, and thanks to spell check I'm too lazy to actually learn how to correctly spell them. I just get used to seeing a red line and right clicking.

I always spell restaurant wrong.

To many to remember and list, but my current favorite seems to be hte, which is meant to be the. Also anything with 2 o's in it cause me difficulty as I always type one o followed by two of the next letter so smooth would be smotth

This is one of the main things I love about Firefox....it catches my typos when I'm on auto-drive. I've always been really good at spelling (yes, I was the one winning those spelling bees)...so very few things trip me up. I know there are a few words that Firefox has consistently yelled at me for, but for the life of me, I can't think of them right now. I can guarantee the next time I type them, though, I'll be headed straight here.

On a side note, I've had a couple misspellings on my blog that I've intentionally left. I blogged about an "egg separator," (http://www.quirkyjessi.com/2007/04/quirkiest-egg-separater.html) where I'd copied/pasted part of the title over, and Firefox can't yell at me for titles. I didn't even noticed that it'd been spelled "separater" (I typed it correctly in the post itself)....but I started getting lots of hits from people searching with that spelling, so I just left it. Something similar happened with, I think, the word "prodigy," although I don't remember how it was spelled when I copied/pasted it, lol.

I did "seperate" until my French prof called me on it (think of it this way: the root is "pare"), it takes all I've got to resist tacking an "e" onto the end of "develop", and I'm constantly typing the word "blodd". I also mis-wrote "believe" twice yesterday while working on a cartoon, which meant I had to draw the damned thing three times. That was way worse than a conventional typo.

Lmao! I did edit that, but I have a legit reason for it ending up that way. I started to type "the next time I come here, I'll blah, blah, blah" and then decided it'd be more likely I'd come here 'after' typing one of the words....I just didn't delete back far enough. 98% of the time, I preview and read over what I've said to check for stuff like that, but I was headed out of class and did an impulse post. Totally not my fault! :'"

Like how I kept that completely sexual innuendo free? Hehe.

That's one of those stupid things about English spellings, Sara.

Two words that sound very similar "separate" and "desperate" are spelt differently. That one was drilled in to me at school, but I still always go to spell "separate" with an "e" then have to correct myself.

I am in fact a terrible speller and am also very grateful to the Firefox plugin. Although the good thing about using a computer though is that I can blame my bad speeling on *typos*.

And while I'm on the subject of typos, I work as a Tech Author by day and probably mistype "document" as "documnet" some where up to 100 times a day. I was spending so much time correcting it I had to set up an auto correct in Word to help me out.

Another word that I misspell a lot is judgment. I always spell it judgement which evidently is wrong!

I always spell revealed as revealled.

I'd look like much more of an idiot if it weren't for Firefox's spell-check.

One thing that annoys me, though, is that I use Canadian English, which carries some British spelling over. So Firefox complains when I type colour, neighbour or centre, for example.

I assume there's some way to change this. The only thing I've actually tried is setting my PC to use Canadian English, but when I do it also seems to insist that I have a Canadian keyboard rather than a standard U.S. one -- which has it randomly switching to dead keys mode and typing accents over my letters.

Same with me - I always mis-type. Or I get ahead of myself and skip words:tongue:

accommodate and necessary, i always forget where to double up on the letters.

I also spell "Sprint" as "Spring" most of the time since i'm more used to writing the latter and muscle memory takes over. Living on Spring street for 2 years will do that to you.

Speaking of double letters, I keep wanting to misspell "embarrassing" the last couple days. Why I've even been using that word repeatedly this week, I have no idea, but it keeps coming out wrong, lol.

My worst ones are "definently" and "supposed". Firefox won't even bring up the correct spelling on the first one. I must really spell it wrong. lol

Is "definitely" the word you were going for?

Yep, sure was. See what I mean. I am fine as long as I have a spell check that picks up my butchering of the word. lol

I tend to get mixed up with words like their and there, belief, relief, relieved, that kind of stuff, I know the difference but when I am typing fast I write the firstthing that comes to mind. When I am typing fast I also mispell "taht"

That is funny because I do that also with the word "that". Sometimes your hands get faster then the brain. At least that is what I tell myself.
