I was just wondering whether many people have tried putting video's on their blogs, such as youtube and 'home made' content.
Did you find it was successful or a waste of time?
I have personally only put video on one post, just to help emphasise what I was blogging about. One thing I don't understand or like is a video where the blogger is sat in a chair talking direct to the camera, why do this?
What do you think about adding a '3rd dimention'! to your blog? :-?

I put YouTube videos in my blog from time to time (just posted one today, in fact)....but it's in the nature of my blog and nothing unusual for me. The videos are generally 'what' I'm writing about.
As for people who video-blog (those who talk to the camera and then post it), it's just another form like podcasting. It's for some people and not for others.

Due to my subject matter, it's just about unavoidable. During some weeks, most of my posts have some form of video.
Posts w/ video perform much better trafficwise.

A bit like Fred Sanford, due to my subject matter I have to include videos. They give context to my posts.
And I do find that when I include a video I get a better response then when I don't.
However, I think it depends on your particular blog and whether the video really adds anything to your content.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping for a future opportunity.
