A fellow Malaysian decided to sell his 5 month old blog, in this short span of time his blog is ranked 44 on Technorati and has a PR 6 and the auction just ended with the blog being sold for a cool $10,000 (http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/15498)

Yep, I saw that as well. 5 months old for 10k is pretty crazy if you ask me. I saw another blog sell today for $200 which I thought was really low.

Home Business Blog how to make money from home and small businesses (http://homebizblogger.com/)

All of the content is unique, it has plenty of subscribers. Given what other blogs are selling for, I think she could have gotten 2k for it. A member here bought it though so it is good for them!

Wow, 10k is crazy. Good for him. Under the Current Offers, it says

"$19,500 (Private) (rejected)"

Wonder why he rejected nearly double the final selling price?

lol, small world. I just spent an hour or so tidying up the theme here for Rob. It's defiantly an awesome buy at $200.

You should think a little bit different. $10,000 for a 5 months worth of effort is really nothing. That is $2000 per month which is something you can earn doing a normal everyday job. And blogging, although normally not perceived that way, tends to be lot harder then a normal every day job. How many times did you stay up late reading forums, other blogs, blogging tips, seo tricks.. And day after day. All that time in front of computer screen had a negative effect on your health and socializing. Is it really worth it $2000 a month?

Agree that is a lot of hardwork for only 2000 a month. Keep in mind though that in malaysia that is good money. If it was my blog i would have kept it. Getting a PR 6 and that rank in technorati is unbelievable, didn't even think that is possible in such short time. I suspect some shady stuff in order to do that, and thats why they sold it, so the person who gets it is left holding the bag lol

that member was none other than yours truly!

I would agree that it was definitely a steal of a price! About 1 week after the purchase it was hit with a PR removal like so many blogs using PPP services which was unfortunate.

Now that's some other projects are out of the way I plan on spending a lot of time working on it. I believe blogs are like most projects where most of the energy is used in the beginning to get it going and once it's going you just have to maintain it.

We'll see what happens but I'm excited about it and didn't even blink before saying "I'LL TAKE IT!"

P.S thanks again Bob!

I think the guy who sold this blog must be very proud of himself and feel confident that he can recreate that process over and over again.

Wow, that is a lot of money. These days, you will not see at least a hundred bucks hanging out the street. This must be his hobby or something. I have my own blog and it only sold for $1,029.00 according to technorati. It is just two months old.

Wow... I was, up until this moment, unaware that blogs could be sold. What kind of blog was it?

It was a blog about working from home. I guess building and selling blogs can be a profitable business if you do it right. And buying an established site sometimes makes more sense that starting from scratch. Congrats to that blogger. I hope he invests his money well.
