Some of the best blogs I read are where the author relates a story or some info they experierienced first-hand.
Shyflower did this recently: Older Space How Do You Measure Success? (http://older-space.com/freelance-tips/freelance-success/)
and I think she did it so well. She told a story and related it to her message. So many times people just try to say the message but an example is really needed to illustrate it. Very nice post Linda.

I enjoyed that article too. I liked the way the two were compared :)

I actually like it so much that today when I read an article that took a similar approach, it inspired a blog post from me: Once Upon a Time (http://www.theblogexperiment.com/blog/2007/11/09/once-upon-a-time/)

My blog is mostly personal, so, most of the content are personal stories. Most of the blogs I read are basically also based on peoples experiences. I think that is something that you can't find in other places.

Nothing on a blog, but the General Chat area of SitePoint is littered with personal stories of mine. Usually involving things like the drug dealing next door neighbors (who've already been arrested and released despite living just down the street from an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - figure that one out), drive-by shootings, the dealing neighbor's place being shot up, or my unwanted trips to the emergency room over complete, pure and utter BS.

All of that would make great blog content Dan. I've read several of your posts there.

What, and the video I linked to from YouTube of a US Navy carrier-based squadron with too much time on its hands doesn't? :p

Ok, here's one of those threads I was talking about earlier (copied to my temp-blog).

it is really effective if you include personal experience in your posts that way it is not mistaken as a Press Release or something
