I want your feedback here please! The forum is going on 4 months old in a few weeks and while it still isn't the largest Blogging forum out there, I definitely think it is the best. We have some great discussions but still have fun too.

Is there anything that we are missing or something that you would like to see here? There are a couple things in the plans like more resources and a blog directory. What other features would enhance your membership here?

The one thing missing is a marketplace - in most forums that tends to be the most active section.

Well, right now if anyone wants to buy, sell, trade, promote or whatever, they can do it in the Blogger's Backtable. There isn't very much activity there so if I created separate forums for a real marketplace, I'm afraid it would be dead. This is something I would love to see happen though. Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I somehow need to promote the Backtable section of the forum more.

I want a page of rss feeds of the members. How about having an account in nexo.com, Sarah. :D

I haven't heard of Nexo doorlight, I'll have to check it out! as far as an rss page, i was thinking of doing something like that with the directory, BUT, since the directory takes more work than just throwing up a page, I could probably create a page that shows the last 25 updated post titles from active members (people who have logged in within the last 30 days). Is that what you mean?

Sarah, the 25 updated post titles is a good idea too. :)

That is an interesting idea with the 25 latest blog posts! It would be great to see what others are posting about.

Hmm... let me think about this and get back to you.

Another thing I've been thinking of the past could of days is having a developers section here. There are already several people on here who have a lot of experience developing themes, plugins, or both. Some have created widgets as well.

I did some planning on the other community and logistically speaking, it is easier to build on to an existing community then start everything from scratch and completely separate it. If there was a developers area, here at TBE, I know I could make use of it.

The general how to development with your blog could stay in the Blog Development section (how do i add this widget to my blog) but the real technical stuff of programming for a blog, would go into the other section.

That could work. Perhaps having it be a child board of Blog Development?

What about an article section? It seems to be a reasonably popular thing these days on the forums I visit. I'm not really sure whither it would be a good idea here as members would want to post any articles to there own blogs I suppose, but maybe worth a bit of discussion at least?

Well I thought of putting up articles (more formal than the blog posts) but don't have the content yet. Are you suggesting articles written by members?

Yeap, I'd like to put up my basic widget code and some other coding stuff, but it would just get lost in the forums as new posts get added and an article feature would be better for that kind of stuff.

What about blogs for our members Bob!? I have been considering doing letting members blog (vB now offers blog with the software), but I don't just want it to be a place for self-promotion and I also don't want to run the risk of duplicate content.

How about somewhere for the women to post pictures of themselves.

That's actually a nice little plugin. I've seen it elsewhere on a photography forum and it is abit more advanced than I was expecting.

I don't really see the point here though as this is a blogging forum and most people on here have a blog or are here for help to set one up. I'm really just looking for somewhere on here that I can post code without it getting lost in the flow and is easy to find. (I'm really thinking of dropping my blog and going back to photoblogging)

Well, there's one thing I'd like to go away, or at least give people the option to use - no conversions of links to their page titles. Sometimes I want the URL to be visible, and I don't want to have to go back and edit my post afterword just to clean up the mess the conversion plugin leaves behind (if it is indeed a plugin).

I actually like the automatic conversion...at times. I agree that I've had to go back and change it a couple times, but I've appreciated it more often than not.

When I want the url to be visible I usually just throw code tags around it. I like the conversion though personally and its better seo for the sites that are getting linked to. From what I've seen, most people don't use descriptive tags when linking so at least there is this level. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Well, I'm not saying to get rid of it completely. Perhaps a checkbox among the other post options (like [ ] Convert URLs to Page Titles ) could work, and would be the best way to go, in my opinion. That way those who want to convert the URL strings can, and those who don't can leave them as the default.
