Blogging To Fame (http://bloggingtofame.com)

Has anyone signed up for this? The basic premise is that you register and nominate your blog, and then others vote (fame) either you as a blogger or your blog itself. Supposedly they are giving away a bunch of money to some excellent blogs/bloggers.

The site is hard to understand in regards to the rules, I mean, are the winners decided by the number of votes or is that just a byproduct of the system? They aren't clear on how winners are selected. If you look at some of the people who have made it into the next round they have a relatively low number of votes compared to some people so I'm not sure how they are are going to determine it.

Is anyone else here on that site yet or understand a bit better on how it works? I've signed up and received some votes but I'm a bit clueless.

I've never heard about it, but I never participate in any contest where the rules are vague - far too many opportunities for rules lawyering and shady back-alley dealings that I'd rather leave to the Mafia and their hitmen than a contest holder.

I'd rather acheive fame on my own- HA! Like that would happen. I blog because I enjoy writing. No other reason-

I think that's a neat idea, but personally I don't write near well enough or frequently enough to win something like that. I wonder how well a niche site like yours Jeremy could do against a site that is more personal related. It would seem the more niche, the harder it would be to get that "fame" as less people would understand your topic.

NO NO NO NO, you can't get famous like that, it's like the people who go on Big Brother and somehow come out famous. It's cheating!

I tried using Blogging to Fame for about a month. The service went well enough and my blog had been "famed" - but I never really received enough traffic from it to make it worthwhile and there was a lot of spam.

Thanks for the link. One can never have too much good information about getting publicity. I'll surf on over, and if it looks good, I might nominate one of my sites just for the heck of it.

Those people are ridiculed in Ausland.

Personally I wouldn't sign up. I am to lazy and I have to remember to many user names and passwords as it is :D
