not that I care really, I've not done any thing that requires PR.

It's just good to know that I got a PR3. :D

OTOH, resetting the PR system would affect world-wide Internet monetization. There will be an uproar in the blogging community as PR ranking would affect their $$$.

not only the blogging community. There are plenty of webmasters out there who run content sites strictly off adsense (and make a pretty penny doing it).

Do I think it will happen though? No, probably not.

you just hit 300 posts brian!

This reads like a Google-hater's fanboyish dreams come true. I'd put about as much credibility into it as the Devil selling rotten apples as "forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden" - that's just me though. ;)

I don't believe any of that.

What Deron said. Particularly the part where PR comes real close to being StumbleUpon.

Lots of crazy rumors going around. Lots of people oddly who put the most $$ and time into chasing PR are those who were hurt the worst. Lots of upset people. Flipside lots of NEW sites with moderate links and exposure getting PR3 or PR4... Bizzarre!!!!

Either way PR in itself is inherently worthless... When is the last time PR clicked on on ad or purchased something from an affiliate you're promoting ;)

Weird. No, I don't see them resetting the PR and "never bringing it back." They may remodel or make some changes, but that seems a bit farfetched.

Did you guys read on about the Adsense stuff? That could have some major implications, but again, I find it a bit hard to believe.

that guy wrote a bunch of crap

I could easily see pr going away if something better came out of google labs to replace it but I doubt it would be in any way how that link describes it
